While my blog’s primary focus is on issues like leadership, strategy, and technology, I am making an exception for this post. Fifteen years ago today, I married the love of my life.
This is a little embarrassingly nerdy, but we met in our church choir. After two months of dating, I purchased an engagement ring but as not to seem impulsive, I waited until we were together five months. 🙂 While in the Dome Room of Monticello, I asked Christina to marry me. Although this may seem rushed to some people, I knew from the start that she was the one and that I wanted to spend the rest of my life with. My only regret is that we didn’t meet earlier.
Christina is genuine, kind, and has an inner light that warms everyone she meets. I am a better person for knowing her. Since we got married, we have suffered the loss of two parents, the near destruction of our house (water damage), and the loss of a job – but we have weathered these challenges together which has only made us stronger.
My entire life, I felt somewhat incomplete. I didn’t know what it was, but something was missing. It turns out, it was Christina.
So happy anniversary Christina – these have been the best fifteen years of my life.
